About the CLAA

The CLAA is an initiative of the in Montréal, Québec. The CLAA exists to support and promote the #LiberalArts, #Humanities, and connected fields in Canada, in both formal educational institutions and among the general public. We view the liberal arts broadly as a grouping of disciplines—bound together by a common educational approach—that participates in an evolving tradition. By “educational approach,” the CLAA envisions a methodical, self-driven, open-minded pursuit of knowledge and understanding appropriate not only for students working their way through institutionalized curricula, but also for curious, reflective adults.
