QCGN presents Jim Carter with the Sheila and Victor Goldbloom Award
On October 26, 2017, the Quebec Community Groups Network (QCGN) recognized the work accomplished by Jim Carter throughout his long career by awarding him the Sheila and Victor Goldbloom prize. Created in 2009, the Goldbloom Prize is an initiative of the QCGN to underline exceptional contributions of people who, like Sheila and Victor Goldbloom, have devoted themselves to the greater vitality of their English-speaking communities both within Quebec and within Canada.
“James Carter has worked tirelessly to improve access to health and social services in English. He remains a community pillar, thanks to the determination, vision and negotiating skills he honed over the years. His long-term mentoring has exerted quiet, positive influence through English-speaking communities right across Quebec.” (Extract from Foreword of the commemorative award booklet by James Shea, President of QCGM)
