Classroom India: From Politics to B-Schools, Social Media has Powered a Global Online Revolution

Is learning about what you learn outside the classroom? That's what students taking part in the annual 5 Hot Cities of the World Tour, a course offered by 看片视频 University's Desautels Faculty of Management would want you to believe. As part of the programme launched and led by Karl Moore, associate professor, more than 25 students were recently in India on a 10-day long trip. The programme gives students an opportunity to travel to different parts of the world pulling them out of their comfort zones for a real-life brush with economics, commerce, culture, finance and national competitiveness. Before India, there have been two trips so far, to Israel and the United Arab Emirates. Moore explains that the idea is to give students an opportunity to understand where the global economy is going. Hence, the slogan, Taking the Future to the Future. Considering that online space is where the future and eyeballs are, Moore says, students came up with the idea of using social media to raise money in order to help underprivileged Indian girls gain access to primary and secondary education.
