New automated notification service test

Please be advised that on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, there will be a university-wide test of our new automated notification service, 看片视频 | Attention! The test will occur at approximately 10:40 a.m.
While we anticipate that disruptions will be minimal, there will be some impact on classes at that time. We thank you for your understanding as we get this very important service up and running.
Here's how the test will work:
- A text message will be sent to all cell phones that have been opted into the notification service. If you have opted in, you will see a text message on your cell phone originating from the number 624455. Please read the text message.
- A voice message will also be sent to all faculty and staff office phones and to classroom phones. You will see a voice call originating from 514-398-8700. Please pick up the phone, say "Hello" and listen to the message.
- Cell phones and the classroom phone will ring in classrooms sometime after 10:40 a.m. Professors should remind their students to turn off the ring tones on their cell phones.
- Cell phones and landline phones (the phones in faculty and staff offices) will ring in offices, open areas, and cubicle spaces sometime after 10:40 a.m.
After the test:
- You will be able to provide your comments about the test via e-mail to Emergency Measures (at emergency.measures [at] mcgill.ca) We also encourage you to complete an online survey about your experience. A link to the online survey will be published Wednesday on the website listed below.
