Prof. Annmarie Adams wins Christophe Pierre Award for Research Excellence
Prof. Annmarie Adams has won the Faculty of Engineering Christophe Pierre Award for Research Excellence.聽 The criteria used in judging nominees were: innovation and impact of the research program and the discoveries developed by the nominee during her period of employment in the Faculty; national and international recognition of excellence and impact of the nominee鈥檚 research on the Faculty, the University, and society as a whole over the last five years; although the nomination document must particularly highlight research and discovery impacts, teaching and service contributions to the Faculty and 看片视频 were also considered.聽 The award consists of a certificate of recognition and a $2,500 award which may be used as salary stipend or to support research, teaching and professional activities.聽 The award was presented to Prof. Adams following the final Faculty meeting of the year on 19 May 2016.
In the citation read at the award ceremony, Dean Jim Nicell noted: 鈥淔ocusing on the cultural landscapes of houses and hospitals, her research is situated at the intersection of the history of architecture, medicine and gender studies. She is truly outstanding, not only in terms of the quality and quantity of research output, but also by the innovative character of her work and its strong impact in fields as varied as architecture, medicine, sociology, history and art history.鈥
