Professor Hewlin receives prestigious award nomination for paper on authenticity in the workplace

Congratulations to Professor Patricia Hewlin,Associate Professor in Organizational Behavior, for being selected as a finalist for the 2020 Academy of Management Annals Best Paper Award. Her paper, entitled “Being Your True Self at Work: Integrating the Fragmented Research on Authenticity in Organizations,” integrates and builds upon existing research on the topic of individual authenticity within organizations.

Professor Hewlin’s paper, published in the Academy of Management Annals, 13 (2): 633–671 with co-authors Sandra E. Cha, Laura Morgan Roberts, Brooke R. Buckman, Hannes Leroy, Erica L. Steckler, Kathryn Ostermeier and Danielle Cooper, was chosen by the Best Paper Awards Committee for the prestigious distinction as one of the two finalists for best article published in AOM Annals in 2020.

The mission of AOM Annals is to publish up-to-date, in-depth and integrative reviews of research advances in management. Often called “reviews with an attitude,” Annals papers summarize and/or challenge established assumptions and concepts, pinpoint problems and factual errors, inspire discussions, and illuminate possible avenues for further study. Reviews published in Annals move above and beyond descriptions of the field – they motivate conceptual integration and set agendas for future research.
