¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ's iGEM team wins 1st Place at 2023 iGEM Grand Jamboree

We're proud to announce thatÌýwon Grand Prize at the 2023 iGEM Grand Jamboree –- the top world-wide student competition in synthetic biology. Our outstanding iGEM team won againstÌý400+ competitors and became the first ever Canadian team to win the Grand Prize at the iGEM Jamboree in 20 years, and after only its second consecutive year of participation.ÌýIn addition to placing first, they also were awarded Special Prizes incuding: Best Therapeutics, Best Part Collection, Best Presentation.

¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ's iGEM features undergraduate students from across the University, with many from the Department of Bioengineering, who were mentored and supported by Prof.ÌýCodruta IgneaÌý(Bioengineering) and Prof.ÌýLisa MunterÌý(±Ê³ó²¹°ù³¾²¹³¦´Ç±ô´Ç²µ²â).
