Abstract
This poster will present the main findings related to the policies, programs and institutions created throughout the years to build innovative health technologies in Brazil, mostly related to neglected diseases, from the early 2000s until today. It will be divided in the most important institutions focused on innovations in health created in the period analyzed, and four main findings. These findings include: the growing government鈥檚 focus on the Health-Industrial Complex since the early 2000s, which lead to the increase of innovative technological products as, mostly, diagnostic kits; Fiocruz鈥檚 main contributions, which has been the incentive to produce research projects and improve professional qualification in the health sector by the creation of programs focused on these areas; and the target on neglected diseases, which have been the main focus of Fiocruz鈥檚 Innovation Portfolio, showing the institution鈥檚 dedication to create preventive innovative products to control these diseases. In order to illustrate the main findings, I will include specific tables for each topic. The improvement of the Health Industrial complex will be presented by a table with the productive private partnerships throughout the years. Fiocruz鈥檚 dedication to create specific programs to develop research projects and human resources will be emphasized by a table with the investments made by the institution in these specific sectors in the period analyzed. Finally, Fiocruz鈥檚 focus on creating technologies to control neglected diseases will be shown by a table with technological innovations focused on neglected diseases which are part of Fiocruz鈥檚 Innovation Portfolio.
