Program Description
The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics offered by the Department of Physics in the Faculty of Science is a research-intensive program that emphasizes demanding and research-based learning opportunities. The program's objective is to equip students with skills in literature review, research design, and presentation of complex topics to pursue professional opportunities in academia or industry.

Unique Program Features
- Students receive valuable guidance and develop a network of contacts. Additionally, both local and international students receive a competitive funding package;
- Research may also be conducted off campus at the 看片视频 University Health Centre (MUHC), the Jewish General Hospital, the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI), and laboratories around the world鈥攊ncluding Argonne, CERN, FermiLab, SLAC, TRIUMF, and KEK;
- Students benefit from access to a conventional machine shop as well as the 看片视频 Nanotools-Microfab facility;
- Faculty members focus research on astrophysics, atmospheric physics, bio-physics, condensed-matter physics, and high-energy physics;
- Graduates pursue career either academia or in industry. This may include focusing on laser spectroscopy, material physics, non-linear dynamics and atmospheric physics, nuclear physics, statistical physics, and medical-radiation physics.
