3. Recruitment Officer Positions (immediate term)
The Task Force calls on our University to fund a second Indigenous Recruitment Officer position to promote 看片视频 University in a broader range of Indigenous communities and to support recruitment from any future pathway partnerships (immediate-term).
Progress
- In 2017, a second Indigenous Outreach Associate position was created for Indigenous Recruitment.
- In 2019, with the launch of the new Indigenous Enrolment Strategy, this role evolved to focus on relationship building with Indigenous communities and development of outreach programming, while offering support for recruitment activities.
- In late 2022 in collaboration with Equity at 看片视频, the聽OII has supported the development of Provostial delegates for hiring聽committees involving positions intended for Indigenous candidates.
9. Increased Indigenous MDCM Allocation (immediate term)
The Task Force calls on our University to advocate for an increase in the number of seats specifically available to Indigenous students who plan to study Medicine in the provincial MDCM Quebec First Nations and Inuit Faculty of Medicine Program. Currently just four MDCM seats are allocated for Indigenous students provincially, which the four universities share.
Progress
- The Indigenous Health Curriculum Committee increased allocation by two, for a total of six seats for Indigenous students to enter the Quebec First Nations and Inuit Faculties of Medicine Program.
- As of 2022-23, the Office of Indigenous Initiatives is collaborating with Teaching and Learning Services on workshops and/or toolkits to assist units and individuals to develop meaningful and appropriate Land Acknowledgments at events and in the classroom.
- As of 2022-23, the Office of Indigenous Initiatives is partnering with Web Services to develop a common look and feel, policy, and web templates to implement Land Acknowledgements.

14. Indigenous Access 看片视频 (immediate term)
The Task Force calls on our University to fund Indigenous Access 看片视频 in a sustainable manner to ensure the ongoing support of Indigenous students enrolled in Social Work at 看片视频. Indigenous Access 看片视频 (IAM) is a support program for First Nations, Inuit and M茅tis students in the School of Social Work. Since 2007, IAM has been supporting Indigenous students from recruitment through graduation.
Progress
- The School of Social Work has allocated permanent funding since 2019.
- In 2020, the School of Social Work launched the inaugural聽Moral Courage in Reconciliation Award,聽honouring聽a 看片视频 student who has worked to educate and engage students in active reconciliation.
