Institute of Air and Space Law to welcome two new senior professors, co-directors

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Professor Vincent Correia and Professor Andrea Harrington will join its Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL).聽聽

They will begin their appointments on 1 August 2023, respectively as full professor and associate professor, and take the helm of the IASL as co-directors.聽

Specialized in aviation law, Vincent Correia is a full professor of public law at the Universit茅 de Paris-Saclay. His research focuses on the interactions between international air law and national and regional legislation, from a multi-level perspective. He has been a visiting professor at Leiden University (Netherlands) for almost a decade and intervened as a guest lecturer at several universities throughout the world. He is fluent in French, English, and Spanish.鈥疕e is co-editor of the Revue fran莽aise de droit a茅rien et spatial and a member of the editorial boards of the Aviation and Space Journal and the Air & Space Law. He is member of the boards of the European Air Law Association and of the Soci茅t茅 fran莽aise de droit a茅rien et spatial.鈥疘n recent years, he collaborated with several governments, airlines, aircraft manufacturers and law firms as a consultant. He holds a doctorate in public law and a master鈥檚 degree in European Community law from Bordeaux University, and a bachelor of law from Bordeaux University and the University of Salamanca.聽聽

Andrea Harrington serves as the dean of space education at Air University. She leads Guardian Education development efforts for the United States Space Force (USSF), including the set-up of USSF graduate programs at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC. Previously, she served as chair of the Department of Spacepower and director of the Schriever Space Scholars concentration at Air Command and Staff College, where she is a full professor. She serves as a member of the editorial board for the 看片视频 Annals of Air and Space Law, New Space Journal, and the American Bar Association publication The Air and Space Lawyer.聽 She is a licensed attorney in Massachusetts. She served as associate director of the University of Mississippi Air and Space Law programs and associate chair for the Policy, Economics, and Law Department in the International Space University鈥檚 Space Studies Program. She holds a DCL and LLM from 看片视频, a JD from the University of Connecticut, an MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Boston University.聽
