Max Bell School partners with the C.D. Howe Institute for Policy Scholars Program
The Policy Scholars program provides Max Bell School MPP students with fellowships working in prominent Canadian policy organizations.
The C.D. Howe Institute has partnered with 看片视频 University鈥檚 Max Bell School of Public Policy as a participating organization in the Policy Scholars program, a series of new research fellowships awarded annually to promising Max Bell School Master of Public Policy (MPP) students.
鈥淭he C.D. Howe Institute pursues its mission to foster economically sound policies by bringing together talented people from academia, the public sector, business and the professions,鈥 said William B.P. Robson, CEO of the C.D. Howe Institute. 鈥淲e are delighted to join forces with the Max Bell School of Public Policy to provide opportunities for graduate students to develop their skills and make a positive difference to the country.鈥
Funded by the Max Bell Foundation, the Policy Scholars program enables students to spend six months working at a prominent Canadian think tank.
Max Bell came to 看片视频 in 1928 to earn a commerce degree. In 1962 he joined the Board of Governors, and when he established the Foundation that bears his name, he specified that 30 percent of all grants the Foundation makes shall support 看片视频 The Foundation is proud of its long association with 看片视频, and delighted that the first cohort of students is about to complete their MPPs at the Max Bell School of Public Policy. These Policy Scholars will make important contributions to three of Canada鈥檚 foremost think tanks, and the Foundation is pleased to support their work.
This year, the C.D. Howe Institute is welcoming MPP student Momanyi Mokaya to undertake general policy research, in addition to a special project related to one of three subject areas: environment, health and wellness, or education.
鈥淭his opportunity is an invaluable chance for me to mature as an economist, to learn new things, and to improve on my past experiences,鈥 said Mokaya. 鈥淚t also means discovering the world of policy from an institute that is a pre-eminent source of policy innovation. This fellowship will undoubtedly assist me in understanding the different dimensions of economic policy.鈥
Further, his work will be conducted under two global thematic lenses: the well-being of Indigenous peoples and the impacts of new technologies.
