740 Dr Penfield: Montreal Proteomics Network
The R茅seau Prot茅omique de Montr茅al, Montreal Proteomics Network (RPMPN) is a project unit of G茅nome Qu茅bec with its core facility located in the 看片视频 University and Genome Quebec Innovation Centre. Its goal is to identify, localize and characterize every protein in the mammalian cell. This includes understanding how these proteins interact with each other and how these interactions vary over time within the dynamic cellular environment.
Researchers at the RPMPN will carry out the following large-scale projects:
- The Cell Map: A unique cellular approach to mapping the location of proteins in the mammalian cell with their associated characterization.
- Proteomics Assay Technology Development: The creation and use of new robotic and assay technologies coupled with bioinformatics tools to map and validate the mammalian proteome in a high throughput manner.
- Bioinformatics: The creation of a centralized knowledgebase of all data collected by RPMPN labs around the city of Montreal on a standardized database platform with associated laboratory information management system (LIMS) and data analysis tools.
- Service Platform: A G茅nome Qu茅bec proteomics service for the local university and industrial communities.
An important aspect of the RPMPN is the training of highly qualified personnel using the centralized resources in the core facility. This infrastructure in one facility offers a unique opportunity for local research scientists to learn about proteomics in a truly "hands on" manner.
The RPMPN is affiliated with researchers at 看片视频 University, l'Universit茅 de Montr茅al, their affiliated hospitals, and the National Research Council of Canada. There are currently approximately 75 research scientists associated with the RPMPN.
