Frédéric Guichard
Professor
Dr. Guichard is professor of Biology at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ He is also the co-director of the Centre for Applied Mathematics in Bioscience and Medicine (CAMBAM), and of the laboratory of mathematical biology at the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques (CRM). He received the Prix Stratégique FRQNT and the Centennial Research Award from the McDonnell Foundation. He is actively involved in large collaborative networks including The Canadian Healthy Oceans Network (CHONe). His research focuses on non-equilibrium dynamics of spatially-structured ecosystems, with an emphasis on marine coastal ecosystems. His group combines mathematical and computational approaches to the development of ecological theories, and the analysis of large datasets. His research has direct implications for the design of marine reserve networks.
