Overview

Mechanical Engineering : Characteristics of production systems. System boundaries, input-output, feedback time-lag effects, dynamics of production systems. Design for manufacturability. Process planning, process/machine tool selection, break-even analysis, CAPP. Production planning, scheduling and control of operations; quality management. Competitive strategies; FMS, CIM. Hands-on experience with production modelling and industrial simulation software.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2011-2012 academic year.
