Program Requirements

Joint Honours in Economics and Accounting requires the completion of 30 specified credits of Honours courses listed in the Economics Honours Program (9 credits of which are counted as core credits) and 24 specified credits for Accounting. This program is designed to take advantage of both ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ's Accounting and Economics course offerings to produce a student who is well trained in these two complementary areas. Calculus 1 and 2 are required for entering this Honours program. Please consult the "120-credit program, Freshman course distribution" section for a detailed explanation regarding Calculus 1 and 2. It is also important to check on its statistics requirements, which are listed on the Department's website. To earn the Joint Honours in Economics and Accounting designation, students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 and maintain a minimum program GPA of 3.00. Students must achieve a grade of B- or better in all Accounting courses.

    Accounting : An examination of the theoretical foundation for financial reporting and revenue recognition. The tools of accounting, including a review of the accounting process and compound interest concepts. Asset recognition, measurement and disclosure. Partnership accounting.
