Overview

Electrical Engineering : A structure introduction to modern optical engineering. Topics covered include the propagation of light through space, refraction, diffraction, polarization, lens systems, ray-tracing, aberrations, computer-aided design and optimization techniques, Gaussian beam analysis, micro-optics and computer generated diffractive optical elements. Systems and applications will be stressed throughout.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2012-2013 academic year.
