Dr. Jean Ouellet is a Professor in the Department of Paediatric Surgery & Surgery at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University and holds several key positions at Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada and Montreal Children’s Hospital. He serves as the Deputy Chief and Medical Director of the Shriners Pediatric Simulation Centre and is the Clinical Director of Scoliosis & Spine Surgery. Additionally, Dr. Ouellet works as a Pediatric/Adult Spine Staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at both hospitals.Â
Dr. Ouellet’s clinical interests include early onset scoliosis, corrective spine surgery, orthopaedic implants, and intervertebral discs. His research focuses on scoliosis animal models, spine biomechanics, disc cell biology, and bone anabolic agents. After earning his MD at the University of Ottawa, he completed his residency at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University and pursued advanced fellowship training in Spinal Surgery at the University of Nottingham and in Pediatric Orthopaedics at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. His published work has made significant contributions to understanding low back pain, osteoarthritis pain, and degenerative cervical myelopathy.Â
