Peter Jarzem, BEng MD FRCSC, is an Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ His clinical interests include artificial disc replacement, minimally invasive surgery, orthopaedic implants, complex deformity correction, and tumor surgery. Dr. Jarzem’s research focuses on clinical outcomes, developing new devices, and understanding the mechanisms behind disc degeneration and low back pain. He is also investigating spinal cord injury mechanisms, particularly as they relate to scoliosis and trauma. He completed his medical degree at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, and his residency training at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Dr. Jarzem further specialized with fellowship training in spine surgery at the Jewish General Hospital and Toronto General Hospital. His research aims to improve surgical outcomes and provide new insights into treating low back pain, with potential applications for future clinical practices.Â
