¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ
Does Student Accessibility and Achievement provide support during the ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ admissions process?
No, however, you can make an appointment with an advisor without having been accepted to the University. In this appointment you can discuss barriers to learning and potential academic accommodations.
What accommodations can I receive?
Accommodations are based on the diagnosis-related barriers you experience. Some of the accommodations Student Accessibility and Achievement may provide include exam accommodations, note taking support, learning resources, peer programming, and assistive technology. Visit our section on Academic Accommodations for more information. Your academic accommodation plan is an individualized plan that is established between you and an Access Services Advisor.
How can I change my accommodations?
Login to ClockWork. Request a change by selecting , then either "I need additional accommodations" or "I need to change or remove an accommodation". Select the course(s) you would like to modify. Â
If you have already completed the  for the semester: Book an appointment with an advisor to discuss your accommodation plan and any changes to your situation. If you've already signed up for exams and need to modify your accommodations for those exams, please let one of our advisors know so we can inform our Exam Center. The Exam Center team will update your exam bookings. Â
Modifications to your accommodation plan will not be implemented for exams taking place in 7 days or less.
Do I need to meet with an advisor every semester?
No. While we encourage you to make a yearly appointment to review your accommodation plan and to discuss your barriers, you do not need to meet with us each year in order to maintain an active academic accommodation plan. Once you have registered with us, you must complete the module in ClockWork at the beginning of each semester.Â
If you previously had an active accommodation plan with us for a temporary impairment and your barriers persist, please access.achieve [at] mcgill.ca (contact us).
I'm not registered with Student Accessibility and Achievement. Can I still meet with an advisor?
Absolutely! You can . During your appointment you can discuss your barriers and, if appropriate, the advisor can recommend different resources and supports.
I'm feeling anxious or stressed. What can I do?
It's important to practice self-directed care and support your mental wellness. Take advantage of these available resources:
- 24/7 mental health support is available via chat, online, or phone from Telus Health Student Support
- offers a free active listening service over the phone or through skype
Exams
I don't remember which exams I've already signed up for.
Login to ClockWork, and select either or the   tab under .   If StopWatch is one of your authorized accommodations: The displayed start and end times include the StopWatch accommodation. The actual time to complete the test/exam will be shorter.
I don't know the start/end time of my exam.
Schedule your exam anyway, using the typical start/end time of your class. Once you know the actual start/end time, notify access.exams [at] mcgill.ca (at least 3 days before your exam). Not having the actual start/end time of your exam is not a valid reason to submit a late request for academic accommodations. View more information on how to schedule an exam.
I missed the deadline to register for my exam.
