International Development Studies Internship Course (INTD 499)
The Arts Internship course allow students to gain experience in areas relevant to their field of study; allowing students who pursue approved internships to gain up to 3 credits towards their degrees. Arts internships involve a minimum of 150 hours of work, normally over a period of 8-12 weeks in a host institution approved by the Arts Internship Office.Ìý
Eligibility Criteria & Requirements
The INTD 499 IDS Internship course is an optional complimentary thematic course. The internship course is only open to U2 and U3 students in good standing, normally after completing 30 credits of a 90 credit program or 45 credits of a 96 to 120 credit program.ÌýA minimum CGPA of 3.30 and permission from the departmental Internship Adviser are required.ÌýThis course will normally not fulfil program requirements for seminar or 400-level courses.

Steps to Getting Approval for Internship Credit
Once you have secured an internship position, complete the steps below if you wish to obtain internship course credit.ÌýAll steps should be completed well in advance of the start of your internship. No approval will be granted after you have started your internship. Students MUST submit the two application forms found below BEFORE THEY START THEIR INTERNSHIP.Ìý
- Once the internship position has been confirmed, follow the stepsÌýlisted on the AIO website (Steps to Getting Approval for Internship Credit).

NOTE: It is wise that students do not wait until the very last minute to fill out the Internship form as a signature from their supervisor is required, as well as a signature from the Arts Internship Office. The ISID office will also accept an email confirmation from the Academic Supervisor in lieu of a signature.Ìý
Ìý - Once the forms have been reviewed and approved by the ISID Undergraduate Program Director and/or the ISID Student Advising Administrator, students will be contacted via email with additional information and a Minerva permit to register for the course.
Evaluation
A grade for the internship will be assigned by the academic supervisor, based on the agreement initially made between the student and the academic supervisor.
