Outgoing Office of Sustainability Communications Intern Maya Willard-Stepan and her peers reflect on the challenges of building a sustainability movement on campus despite high student turnover.

As summer approaches, another cohort of ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵians prepare to make their way across the convocation stage, and thousands of students who have been involved in sustainability projects on campus head out into the world.

The Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) is looking for a PGSS representative to sit on its Working Group starting in September 2018 for a one- to two-year mandate. The PGSS representative would be one of eight Working Group members, who ensure that the SPF meets its mandate to build a culture of sustainability on ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ campuses through the development and seed-funding of interdisciplinary projects.

²Ñ³¦³Ò¾±±ô±ô’sÌý (FMGSS) was recently recognized by the Post Graduate Student Society (PGSS) of ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University awarded both the  of the Year Award and the Best Academic Event Award. The awards were presented during the 2018 PGSS Awards Night on April 12, an event that aims to recognize students, student groups and student-run events that have proven themselves to be outstanding within PGSS.

Through the PGSS Library Improvement Fund, the Post-Graduate Students’ Society of ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University in collaboration with the PGSS Family Care Caucus and the ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Library created the PGSS Family Care Collection in order to assist students who bring their children to various branch libraries. Available at Library Service desks, the collection includes a small chair, crayons, colouring sheets and both fiction and nonfiction works suggested by PGSS for a variety of age groups.
