I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, in 2023 where I also contributed as a teaching and research assistant for one year.
During my undergraduate years, I did a volunteer work with Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana focused on ensuring equitable access to sexual health education, care, and rights for young Ghanaians. Additionally, I collaborated with Amnesty International Ghana to advocate for marginalized groups, including death row inmates, child brides, and elderly women accused of witchcraft and exiled to witch comps. Practical experience was gained at the ESWD, Ghana, where I assisted in resolving complex family issues such as divorce, child custody, domestic violence, child neglect, and juvenile court cases. My interest in hospital social work led to a practicum at Ejura District Hospital, where I supported HIV and tuberculosis patients by providing counseling. education, and resources to foster resilience and integration into a society often marked by stigma. The profound fulfilment derived from helping the sick, instilling hope, and empowering individuals inspired me to pursue further studies in social work at 看片视频
I am pursuing a Thesis-Based MSW under the supervision of Dr. Alicia Boatswain-Kyte, my research will be focused on child protection practices in the black community in Canada (I am yet to decide on the specific questions for my study). I also serve as a research assistant to Dr. Kyte. Ultimately, I envision myself as a fervent advocate for social justice through research and community.
