The primary objective of ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ’s Desautels Faculty of Management Bachelor of Commerce Program is to prepare students for effective professional and managerial careers. This preparation includes developing in students a capacity for critical thinking, for integrating knowledge across different disciplines, and for utilizing theory in approaching practical business problems. Students also foster the skills to become comfortable with taking risks, work as part of a team, and develop the necessary skills required to lead others. Students will acquire the essential management competencies which will enable them to offer the expertise organizations need to respond to the ever-changing and increasingly complex global marketplace.

International & interdisciplinary BCom program

The BCom program has made international and interdisciplinary experiences for students a priority. You will have access to professors from all over the world, who are highly committed to sharing their research and international experience in the classroom. Our professors are involved in numerous international projects.

Admission to Commerce (Management Faculty) at the undergraduate level is handled centrally by the University’s Enrolment Services ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Office. Transfer Credit & Advanced Standing

When you applied to ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ you declared an admission type and you may receive credits toward your degree depending on your education level prior to ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ and, in some cases, the grades you received.ÌýAdvanced Standing refers to credits granted for: CEGEP DEC, Advanced Level Exams, International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement exams etc.ÌýPlease consult theÌýAdvanced StandingÌýwebpage to learn more about this.

Advanced Placement results with a score of 4 or 5 must be declared at the time of applying to the University to be eligible to receive credit.

Courses taken at other universities prior to starting your undergraduate studies must be declared at the time of application to the University.

For transfer students from another university, courses you took may need to be evaluated to determine the credits and possible course exemptions you will receive. It is the student’s responsibility to submit the course outlines in the Course equivalency database as soon as possible. The academic advisers in the BCom Student Affairs Office will be pleased to assist you in this process. Please note that transfer students will need to complete a minimum of 60 credits at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University in order to graduate with a ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ degree.

All BCom students must complete at least two thirds of their degree credits at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ and at least two thirds of each degree component at ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ. For example, students may only complete 4 courses (12 credits) from a Major away from ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ and 2 courses (6 credits) from a Concentration or Minor away from ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ.
