The Post-PhD Graduate Diploma in School/Applied Psychology enables holders of a doctorate in Psychology to pursue further studies in School/Applied Child Psychology. The course of study is adapted to the background of each student. The program includes exceptionally one, or typically two, years of courses and practica, plus a year of Internship. Students register on a per-credit basis (including Internship). IMPORTANT NOTE: Regarding the required internship place, this must be full-time placement and students cannot fulfill this requirement at the place of employment.

Accreditation
All elements of this postdoctoral graduate diploma are selected from the professional components of the PhD in School/Applied Child Psychology, which is accredited in the School Psychology category by the American Psychological Association (APA). Graduates of a re-specialization program are normally accorded the same recognition as graduates of the accredited program. Please visit the PhD program page for accreditation informationÌý(please note that APA accreditation will cease for all Canadian institutions in 2015).
Language requirements
Students are not required to demonstrate knowledge of a second language within this program; however, any student wishing to be licensed as a professional psychologist in Quebec must have a working knowledge of French. Accreditation status may be confirmed by contacting the accrediting bodies.

Academic background & requirements
- An earned doctorate in Educational Psychology, another area of Psychology, or a closely related discipline (to be recognized at the Program Director's discretion).
International applicants
CGPA Equivalency

Proficiency in English
Applicants to graduate studies whose mother tongue is not English and who have not obtained (or are about to obtain) an undergraduate or graduate degree from a recognized foreign institution where English is the language of instruction or from a recognized institution in Canada or the US (anglophone or francophone), must submit documented proof of proficiency in oral and written English.
Appropriate exam results must be submitted prior to the application deadline and submitted directly from the language testing proficiency office to ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ. In each case, you must ensure that the official test results are sent directly to ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ (¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Institution Code: 0935) by the testing service. Applications will not be considered if test results are not available.Ìý Note: TOEFL results are only valid for two years from the date the test was written.
Applicants whose mother tongue is not English may be asked to demonstrate an English-language proficiency beyond the submission of the language proficiency test scores.

Applicants should review the GPS step-by-stepÌýApplying and ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Help SiteÌýbefore starting their application.ÌýNote: in order to finalize and submit your uApplyÌýapplication, aÌýnon-refundable application feeÌýis required.
- Built into the uApply online application are numerous questions requiring personal information specific to every applicant. Program specific requirements within the application are as follows:

- Letters of Reference: Within the online application, applicantsÌýmust provide valid institutional e-mail addresses forÌýthree (3)Ìýreferees.Ìý¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University will send an email to each referee applicants identify on the application form, asking for a reference in support of their application to be admitted.ÌýReferees will be invited to login to a secure portion of the ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ website where they will be required to answer questions about the applicant and will be given the ability to 1) input (via text box) a reference letter either by typing it in directly or by cut-and-paste from an existing document or 2) to upload a letter of reference in PDF format.

- Transcripts: AnÌýunofficial copy of your complete university-level academic record to date must be uploadedÌýthrough uApplyÌý- including any ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ transcripts.Ìý(Quebec residents:ÌýCEGEP transcripts are not required).ÌýAll transcripts received via the upload process are consideredÌýunofficial.ÌýÌýIf you are offered admission, you will also need to provide official transcripts (sent to us by mail in a sealed envelope directly from the institution).ÌýYour offer of admission will be contingent upon the receipt and verification of these official documents.ÌýPlease do not send these official records until we request them from you.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): A completed curriculum vitae using the ECPÌýCurriculum Vitae FormÌý[.doc] must be uploaded through uApply.
- Personal Statement:ÌýA statementÌýno longerÌýthan 3 pages in length must be uploaded through uApply.ÌýPlease write the words 'PERSONAL STATEMENT' as well as your first and last name at the top of the page of your pdf document.ÌýThe personal statement should speak to yourÌýexperience, career plans, and program appropriateness for your future endeavours and anything else which might be relevant to your application.

Notification & confirmation of acceptance
- ByÌýApril 1st of each year, candidates offered potential positions in the program will receiveÌýby emailÌýaÌý"Recommendation of Acceptance"Ìýsent to theÌýemail address they provided in uApply. This letter serves to inform the candidate that the ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ Review Committee has agreed to recommend them into the program and that their application is being transmitted to ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ's Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (GPS) for final review and acceptance. In most cases, this review takes approximately 7-10 days.
- After review by GPS, successful candidates will be contacted by GPS with anÌýofficial "Offer of Admission".
- Candidates are then required toÌýrespond to theirÌýoffer of admissionÌýon-line using your uApplyÌýaccount.
