Requests for course equivalencies submitted via the must be accompanied by a valid course syllabus/outline (in PDF format).
NOTE: All syllabi submitted as part of course equivalency requests must include: 1) A week-by-week course schedule; and 2) A complete list of required assigned readings for the course.听Requests with syllabi that do not include this information will be refused, and credit will not be granted for these courses.
To be considered "valid", the syllabus/outline (see听 sample syllabus听for reference) must include the following information:
- Institution Name:
- The full name of the university or educational institution (an identifiable logo may provide the necessary identification in some cases). Documentation obtained from a website must include the URL of the source.

- Complete course number and title.
- eg.听SOC 312: Sociology of Work and Industry
- Instructor:
- Name and contact information of the instructor
- Course Description:
- Brief overview of course content.
- eg. "In this course, we will delve into that hidden abode and uncover the world of work. We will start by asking fundamental questions such as: Why do we work? What counts as work? How has work changed over time, and why? We will then explore the modern world of work, focusing in particular on polarized nature of today鈥檚 workforce, with a large number of people clustered into low-paid service work, and a small number reaping outsized rewards at elite jobs. In the final weeks we will look towards the future of work."

- Any syllabus that does not include a complete list of assigned readings will not be assessed.
- Mode of Delivery:
- In-person, online, hybrid (if hybrid, clear definition of what is in-person vs what components are online).
- Learning Outcomes:
- Information on what the student is expected to have learned upon completion of course.
- Date of Course:
- The syllabus must show the date (term and year) the course was taken as well as the start and end date.
- Course Schedule:
- Number of hours: One-term or two-term course, total number of hours (or hours/week plus number of weeks)
- Week-by-week breakdown of course content.
- List of Topics: The number of hours spent on each topic must be included.
- Grading System:
- Complete breakdown of course grade (midterms, final, oral, labs, tutorials, assignments, etc.) with percentage weight for each
- Number of Credits:
- Number of credits obtained upon the successful completion of the course, lab, and/or tutorial.
- Books and Materials:
- Complete list of books or materials used throughout the course.
- Prerequisite(s):
- The course names and course numbers for any and all prerequisites for the course.
- *Tutorial (if any)*:
- Mandatory or optional, total number of mandatory hours.
- *Laboratory (if any)*:
- Total number of hours in lab, list of experiments (preferably with a short description), are these "hands-on" lab experiments, demonstrations, exercises, or problem-solving sessions?
- Number of hours in laboratory for each experiment.
- Performed individually, or in pairs or groups of how many?
