PATH 396 Undergraduate Research Project in Pathology (3 credits)

Overview

Pathology: Independent research project with a final written report.

Eligibility: Completion of at least one full undergraduate term with a CGPA of at least 3.0 plus permission of the instructor.

PATH 396 Highlights:

  • Allows听Bachelor of Science students to conduct an independent research project under the supervision of a 看片视频 professor;
  • Contains a significant research component that requires substantial independent work by students;
  • Facilitates hands-on biomedical research experience related to the study and diagnosis of disease;
  • Provides exposure to diverse techniques and sub-disciplines, including but not limited to molecular and cell biology, anatomy, pathophysiology and bioinformatics; and
  • Counts towards the requirements of the听Dean's Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research List (DMURL);

Evaluation and Deadlines

The final grade for PATH 396 is based on two components: in-lab/research performance (50%) and a final written report (50%). Students may follow the general format of a 听or a scientific article in the project discipline.

The research supervisor is responsible for the formal evaluation of the student using the PATH396 scoring sheet:听File PATH396_Evaluation_2024

Deadlines: Students should submit copies of their final reports to their supervisor by the last day of classes in the term.
Fall 2024: report, December 4; final grade, December 18
Winter 2025: report, April 11; final grade, April 25
Summer 2025: report, August 4; final grade, August 14

Completed scoring sheets can be sent to Dr. Gregorieff (with gradstudies.pathology [at] mcgill.ca in copy).听
