Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists' Award

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý To recognize academic standing.
·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²âÌý Presented to the student with the highest standing throughout the professional program in Occupational Therapy M.Sc.A. (O.T.).

Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation – Future Scholars Award

Purpose To recognize potential in scholarly research.
Eligibility Canadian Occupational Therapy Foundation-Future Scholar Award is for full-time students within the Professional Program who exhibit the potential for major research, but currently engaged in smaller research projects. Selection will be based upon the attributes that the student demonstrates during their involvement in the Master’s Research Project, or during a summer research project that suggests that they have strong potential to conduct scholarly research.

Clinical Prize of Excellence: l'Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý To recognize exceptional performance in clinical placements.
Eligibility Awarded by l’Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec to the student demonstrating exceptional overall performance in attaining the objectives of the clinical placements throughout the professional program in Occupational Therapy M.Sc.A. (O.T.).

Dr. Alice Chan-Yip Multiculturalism Award

Purpose

To recognize research in international development or multiculturalism.

Eligibility Established in 2011 in recognition of the importance of cultural competency in professional practice in rehabilitation, both in the domestic and the international arenas. Awarded by the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy to a student enrolled in any year of the School's professional Occupational or Physical Therapy programs or to students registered in the Master’s or PhD programs in Rehabilitation Science. The award amount is between $500 to $1000.

Edith Aston-McCrimmon Professionalism Award

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý To recognize professionalism and commitment to their profession.
Eligibility To recognize students in the professional Occupational or Physical Therapy Programs who espouse the ideals of professionalism and demonstrate outstanding commitment to their chosen profession. To be awarded by the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy to support expenses related to representing ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University and their profession at major provincial, national or international professional congresses. Value of the refund is up to $2000. with receipts.

Helen M. Gault Award

To recognize outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship, and professionalism.

·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²âÌý Presented to a graduating student in the professional program in Occupational Therapy M.Sc.A. (O.T.) and a graduating student in the professional program in Physical Therapy M.Sc.A. (P.T.) who have demonstrated the most outstanding qualities of leadership, scholarship and professionalism throughout their undergraduate program.

Kay Rothman Amor Wolofsky Travel Award

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý

To provide travel support for a professional conference.

·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²âÌýÌý

Established in 2017 by Kay Rothman Amor Wolofsky, DIP P&OT 1953. To provide travel support for a maximum of two graduate students graduating from the MSc (Applied)ÌýOccupational Therapy or Physical Therapy program and who are attending the Canada Association of Occupational Therapists conference, the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s national congress, or other relevant conference, as determined by the Director of the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. Value of the refund is up to $1500. with receipts

Korner-Bitensky Prize for Generosity of Spirit

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý To recognize the generosity of spirit.
·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²âÌý This award is given to the student in the OT and PT graduating classes that exemplifies a generosity of spirit by contributing to the well-being and needs of other students. This student has been nominated by their peers as someone who has demonstrated "generosity -- by giving more than one can easily give" over the years of their professional training.

Patricia Ann MacDonald Wells Van Daele Memorial AwardÌý

Purpose To recognize outstanding research on the again population and/or clinical education.
Eligibility Established in 2003 by family, friends and colleagues of Patricia Ann MacDonald Wells Van Daele as well as graduates of the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. This award is given to a student in recognition of outstanding research on the aging population and/or clinical education. Value between $500 to $1000 depending on available funds.

SPOT Alumni Travel Award

±Ê³Ü°ù±è´Ç²õ±ðÌý To provide financial support in presenting research findings at conferences.Ìý
·¡±ô¾±²µ¾±²ú¾±±ô¾±³Ù²âÌý Students who completed their professional Physical or Occupational Therapy Degree in the fall previous to the award application (e.g. completed in fall 2020 for a February 28, 2021 application).
Students who are authors of poster or podium presentations at the targeted conference. Value of the refund is up to $1500Ìýwith receipts
