Project Hero was co-founded by Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Reed and Retired Ìýto provide support to the sons and daughters of fallen Canadian soldiers. Effective September 2009, ¿´Æ¬ÊÓƵ University is proud to participate in Project Hero by providing tuition waivers to children of Canadian military killed while serving in an active mission.

The waivers*Ìýcover tuition for full-time undergraduate studies for a period not exceeding the normal program duration (e.g. 6 terms for a 90-credit program). The waivers do not cover incidental, ancillary and/or administrative fees.

*Revenue Canada and Revenue Quebec tax receipts will be issued for the value of the tuition waiver.

Eligibility

Recipients must:

  • be a child of a member of the Canadian military killed while serving in an active mission;*
  • be under the age of 26;
  • be registered as a full-time student in an undergraduate degree program and maintain satisfactory academic standing.ÌýExceptions are granted when students are ‘deemed full-time’, for example, due to a documented disability requiring academic accommodation as confirmed by when students are registered with the Student Accessibility & Achievement, or as recognized by government aid programs due to young dependent child(ren).

*Eligibility will be determined by Canadian Forces criteria.
